This iconic purpose-built public observatory sits atop the imposing Balgay Hill. I had thought about painting this building many times, I finally decided to do it after a twilight walk in the park.
Inspired by the woodland setting and the spectacular starry sky I rushed to my studio, the scene imprinted in my mind, I couldn’t wait to render it on canvas.
